UPGRADE PATCHES FOR b2evolution
===============================

b2evolution is a PHP blogging software; you can get it at http://b2evolution.net .

This directory contains compressed ("gzipped") patches made using diff(1). They allow
easy upgrading between b2evolution versions.
To apply them, you need the patch(1) and gzip(1) programs. They should be shipped with
most *nix distributions, but if needed you can install them using your package manager
or download them from http://www.gnu.org/software/patch/patch.html or http://gzip.org ,
respectively. Windows versions can be obtained from http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net .

The patches have filenames of the form "b2evolution-XXX-to-YYY.patch.gz", where XXX is
the old and YYY the new version number; they contain the changes to the "blogs" folder
only.

APPLYING THE PATCHES
====================

After downloading a patch file, first make a backup of your existing b2evo files (this
IS important). Then change to the "blogs" folder (or whatever it is named on your
installation) and type:
	gunzip -c patch/to/the/patch/file | patch -Np1
The "patch" program now tries to apply all the changes. It may fail on some files if you
have modified them; in this case, you have to merge the changes manually (do not ask me
how to do that; read http://www.gnu.org/software/diffutils/manual/html_node/Detailed-Unified.html
to understand the unified diff format; it is not complicated).
